Downtown Thursday Returns June 25 with Free Block Party, Live Music, and Family Fun in San Antonio

Downtown San Antonio’s summer celebration series continues later this month as residents and visitors are invited to enjoy another evening of live entertainment, community activities, and family-friendly fun during the next Downtown Thursday Block Party.

The free event will take place on Thursday, June 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Legacy Park, located at 103 W. Houston Street, and is part of the city’s ongoing Downtown Thursday initiative designed to bring more activity, entertainment, and community engagement to the downtown area throughout the summer.

This month’s Block Party will feature live music from Fast Moving Train, a popular regional band known for its energetic performances and crowd-pleasing mix of music. Attendees can also enjoy interactive activities, giveaways, complimentary light bites, and beverages while spending an evening in one of downtown’s most popular gathering spaces.

The Downtown Thursday series was launched to encourage residents, downtown workers, and visitors to experience the city’s cultural attractions, local businesses, and public spaces during the summer months. The weekly initiative offers a variety of family-friendly programming, community events, arts and culture experiences, and dining opportunities throughout downtown San Antonio.

City officials say the Block Party provides an opportunity for people of all ages to gather, enjoy live entertainment, and connect with the community in a relaxed outdoor setting.

To make attending more convenient, free parking will be available after 5 p.m. at the City Tower Garage, located at 60 N. Flores Street. In addition, the Local SATX micro-transit service will offer transportation from other downtown locations to the event, helping visitors move easily throughout the downtown area without needing to relocate their vehicles.

The Downtown Thursday program continues through the end of August and is expected to feature a variety of entertainment options, activities, and special events designed to showcase downtown San Antonio as a destination for residents and tourists alike.

Community members are encouraged to arrive early, bring friends and family, and take advantage of the free activities and entertainment while exploring the city’s downtown district.
