I’d like to personally invite you to a public meeting hosted by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to discuss their plans for improving Bandera Road. This meeting will focus on the section north of 410 and will provide an opportunity for you to learn more and share your input.

Here are the details:
📅 Date: Thursday, February 6
⏰ Time: 5 – 7 PM
📍 Location: Leon Valley Community and Conference Center (6427 Evers Road, San Antonio, TX 78238)

What will be covered?
Bandera Road is one of the busiest corridors in our area, and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), working with the cities of Leon Valley and San Antonio, is planning a project to make it safer, less congested, and more accessible for everyone—whether you drive, bike, or walk.

The proposed improvements include:

  • Expanding the roadway to an eight-lane parkway
  • Adding shared-use paths for bicyclists and pedestrians on both sides
  • Introducing signalized restricted crossing U-turn (RCUT) intersections to improve traffic flow and safety

These upgrades will enhance how we move through our community while keeping connectivity and safety top of mind.

What About Businesses and Properties Along Bandera Road?
The project will require some additional right-of-way, which could affect nine non-residential structures. If your property or business is impacted, know that relocation assistance is available. You can learn more by contacting TxDOT’s right-of-way project manager at 210-615-5850.

Why Your Input Matters
This meeting allows you to ask questions, provide feedback, and ensure the improvements reflect what our community needs. Your voice is critical, and I’d love to see you there to hear your thoughts. Click here to learn more about the meeting.
