Community Options Offers Employment Support for Minority Youth with Disabilities in San Antonio
Community Options, Inc., in collaboration with the NBA Foundation, is proud to announce its ongoing Employment Program designed to support minority youth with disabilities in the San Antonio area. This initiative is led by John Gallegos, an Employment Specialist at Community Options, who is dedicated to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) find meaningful employment opportunities.
Through this partnership, the program offers participants a wide range of services to help them prepare for, secure, and maintain employment. These services include:
- Job exploration
- Self-advocacy instruction
- Work-based learning experiences
- Counseling on post-secondary education and vocational training
- Job placement support
- Follow-up services
This initiative not only provides career preparation, but also builds confidence, independence, and life skills in young people with disabilities who face additional barriers in the workforce.
