San Antonio’s River Walk will once again glow with light and celebration as the 28th Annual Chanukah on the River returns to the Arneson River Theater on Sunday, December 21, 2025. This beloved holiday tradition is free and open to the public, welcoming families, residents, and visitors to celebrate Jewish unity and the spirit of Chanukah in the heart of downtown.

The event will feature a 9-foot menorah lighting, led by community leaders and dignitaries, along with kosher concessions and festive activities for all ages. One of the most anticipated highlights of the evening is the live concert featuring international Jewish music artist Noam Buskila, adding music and energy to the riverfront celebration.

The evening’s schedule begins at 3:30 p.m. with Chanukah boat rides along the San Antonio River, offering a unique way to experience the holiday from the water. At 4:30 p.m., attendees can gather for the menorah lighting ceremony and concert, set against the iconic backdrop of the River Walk.

Chanukah on the River is organized by Chabad Jewish Center and supported by community partners and sponsors, including H-E-B, which is providing free donuts for attendees. The event has grown over nearly three decades into one of San Antonio’s largest public Chanukah celebrations, drawing thousands each year.

“This event is about bringing people together—celebrating faith, culture, and community in a joyful and inclusive way,” organizers shared.
