Recently, our area has had warm, dry weather that increases the risk of wildfires, even after some rain and cooler temperatures. Officials have reviewed the KBDI index, which shows a high level of 500-600, indicating a significant fire risk. As a result, the burn ban will continue until conditions improve. Unincorporated areas in Bexar, Guadalupe, and Comal Counties are also under a burn ban.

Ban Restrictions:

  • No open flames, including fire pits, bonfires, and campfires, are permitted in any outdoor spaces.
  • Discontinuation of prescribed burns and agricultural burning.
  • Suspension of permits for controlled burns, incinerators, and fire training exercises.
