The City of San Antonio City Council has approved an update to the City’s smoking ordinance aimed at further protecting public health and improving the quality of life for all residents. Sections of the Municipal Code need to incorporate Electronic Smoking Devices (ESD’s), also known as e-cigarettes or vapes, into the definition of smoking to align with best public health practices. 

The revised ordinance, which will take effect on January 1, 2025, prohibits the use of Electronic Smoking Devices (ESDs) in all venues where smoking is currently restricted.
