Boerne is raising a glass this May as it celebrates American Craft Beer Week, May 11–17, with a weeklong spotlight on its vibrant brewery scene and the return of a fan-favorite tradition—the 5th Annual Bock Walk on May 16–17.
The Hill Country town has quickly become a destination for craft beer lovers, home to six independent breweries that blend creativity with community. Participating locations include 28 Songs Brewhouse + Kitchen, Hamby’s, Tusculum Brewing Co., Cibolo Creek Brewing Co., Free Roam Brewing Co., and The Dodging Duck Brewhaus. Each brings its own flavor and personality to Boerne’s growing reputation as a hub for quality craft brewing.
The highlight of the week, the Bock Walk, invites visitors to stroll through downtown Boerne while sampling unique takes on a traditional German-style Maibock lager. Known for its smooth, malty profile and seasonal spring appeal, the Maibock serves as the perfect centerpiece for this collaborative celebration. Attendees can explore each brewery, compare flavors, and experience firsthand the craftsmanship behind every pour.
Set along the scenic Hill Country Mile, the event offers more than just great beer. Visitors can enjoy local shops, restaurants, and galleries while soaking in the charm of Boerne’s historic downtown. To mark the occasion, limited-edition Boerne craft brewery T-shirts featuring all six breweries are available for pre-order, giving fans a way to show their support long after the event ends.
Adding a meaningful touch, a portion of proceeds from T-shirt sales will benefit Paidion Shield, a veteran-run nonprofit focused on child safety and preparedness. It’s a partnership that highlights the breweries’ commitment not only to great beer, but to giving back to the community.
With craft brews, local flavor, and a strong sense of purpose, Boerne’s American Craft Beer Week celebration is shaping up to be a must-visit event in the Texas Hill Country.
