High school seniors in Schertz with a passion for public service have an opportunity to apply for the Hal Baldwin Scholarship, a program designed to support the next generation of community leaders.
The scholarship honors former Schertz Mayor Hal Baldwin, who dedicated more than 30 years of service to the city. Established in his legacy, the program aims to encourage students who are committed to careers in public service, including fields such as government, education, law enforcement, and other civic-focused professions.
Eligible applicants must be Schertz residents and graduating high school seniors planning to attend an accredited postsecondary institution. Scholarship funds can be used toward tuition and other educational expenses, helping ease the financial burden as students pursue their goals.
Applications are available online at Schertz.com/halbaldwin and can also be picked up at various City of Schertz facilities. Completed applications must be submitted to the City Manager’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30.
