One of Texas’ most beloved holiday traditions is back! The iconic Holiday Lights on the San Antonio River Walk return on Friday, November 28, 2025, transforming the heart of downtown into a glowing winter wonderland through January 11, 2026.
The season officially begins during the Annual Ford Holiday River Parade, which also serves as the televised lighting ceremony at the historic Arneson River Theatre. Visitors can gather along the River Walk on November 28 to enjoy the parade, festive floats, live entertainment, and the magical moment when the lights are switched on for the season.
More than 200,000 sparkling lights will illuminate the towering bald cypress trees that line the river, creating one of the most breathtaking holiday displays in the country. The lights can be viewed nightly for free, making it an accessible and memorable experience for families, travelers, and San Antonio locals alike.
The River Walk remains open 24/7 as a public park, with the holiday lights displayed throughout the downtown section.
Visitors can also enjoy several seasonal events that coincide with the light display, including:
- Ford Fiesta de las Luminarias
- Ford Holiday Boat Caroling
The Holiday Lights on the River Walk continue to be a cornerstone of San Antonio’s holiday celebrations, drawing thousands each year for an unforgettable seasonal experience.
