San Antonio’s beloved patriotic tradition returns this summer as the Stars & Stripes Parade steps off along Houston Street on Thursday, July 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event revives a vibrant downtown celebration that was a staple in the 1940s, offering a lively, all-American extravaganza in one of the city’s most historic corridors.
Organized in partnership with CENTRO San Antonio, Visit San Antonio, the City of San Antonio, and The Alamo, the parade will feature performances from the 300th Army Reserve Band and more than 70 Medal of Honor tributes, honoring the sacrifices of American heroes.
The route will run from Legacy Park to the Alamo, energizing the heart of downtown with red, white, and blue fanfare. The event is free and open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or grab patio seating along Houston Street. Affordable parking will be available at SAPark garages.
With its mix of historic reverence and modern energy, the parade promises a festive and meaningful way for residents and visitors to celebrate Independence Day.
