HISTORIC news….
Last Friday we made history! I’m proud to announce that the Governance Committee, after reviewing the Council Consideration Request (CCR) I authored, unanimously voted to implement Zero-Based Budgeting principles for the FY2027 budget. The budgeting process will be a hybrid method combining elements of Zero-Based, Priority-Based, and Outcomes-Based Budgeting practices.
Reviewing and passing the budget is the most critical task the council undertakes each year. This new budgeting approach will help ensure that your tax dollars are used more effectively. Since being elected, one of my top priorities has always been to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent in ways that directly improve our citizens’ daily lives. Removing frivolous spending and prioritizing what is important to YOU is an undertaking I am proud of. I’m confident that ZBB will achieve this. With fall just around the corner, I invite all our neighbors to host a coffee meet-up in your neighborhood with me, your Councilman. This is a perfect time to spend a morning discussing any concerns or upcoming projects you would like my office to know about. And don’t worry, we’ll bring the coffee!
